ABOUT US
I founded CURA in 2013 after I had traveled the world with my family to see poverty at its worst: from the slums of Kenya to the streets of Peru. What struck me most about this crippling poverty was how many organizations who promised to bring lasting change to these areas provided short-term solutions which only perpetuated the problem. More so, many of the corrupt governments of these less developed countries do little to help the poverty epidemic which plagues their nation. It is up to us to bring change to those who have little hope not only internationally, but locally. CURA's goal is to provide sustainable, long-term solutions to the poverty epidemic in collaboration with other larger charities with the same goal: promoting education, sustainable agriculture practices, and building infastructure, to ultimately change the lives of those in need of our help, one person at a time.
To quote Nelson Mandela:
“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”
